Hiring September 2021: Full-Time Content Editor & Admin Role

Open work-from-home position: Hiring now!

Express Writers is a team of passionated, savvy content creators that work together to create great content for our clients since 2011. Our passion is crafting content that won’t add to the generalized noise on the web, but creating content that is well-researched, aligns with SEO and client goals, and builds our clients’ brands.

If you enjoy being involved in the content creation and editing process, this job could be perfect for you.

This is a flexible contract position (only), for a full-time content editor who can also take on administrative tasks (we won’t ask you to take these on until you’ve gotten comfortable in the editing role, which generally takes at least 1 – 2 weeks).

Responsibility & Schedule:

  1. Log on and get work done every day. Let us know you’re online in our Slack channel, and get to work. We don’t care when you come in; we care that the work gets done. We do need a daily login, with some flexibility if you let us know ahead of time you’ll need time off; work flows in every day, and this is a primary editorial role where you’ll edit quite a bit of the content that comes through our queue.
  2. Track your time and work with simple entries in a paysheet log every day that we will set up for you with examples and instructions, and let you manage.
  3. Daily editing of at least 10,000 words (this is more than possible for an experienced content editor) at general and expert levels. (Expert level content editing pays more.)
  4. Once you’re comfortable editing, we’d like to introduce admin tasks into your role, which can add up to an additional 3 hours/day (total, this role should take up 6 hours/day, for experienced candidates). These admin tasks include assigning and delivering under the supervision of our Content Manager (you’ll never do this alone or have to be responsible for project tasks outside of some simple assigning/delivering); HR assistance (filtering through writer candidates), and HR email inbox assistance (emailing candidates with our templates).

Pay Opportunity:

$400-$500 weekly, once all duties are begun. This is an estimate of how much you will be able to make on average in this role.

The rates are divided between fixed: editing is fixed rates at $2/500w for Level 1 content review, $5/500w for Level 2 content review. Additionally, $15/hour for administrative tasks. (Editing and admin tasks are never something to multi-task. We do not tolerate excess speed just to get “work done.” We expect quality standards to be upheld on your part at all times.)

Pay is made every two weeks, consistently, via PayPal, on our payroll. You get set up in our workroom, with a thorough, detailed orientation; and communication is only between our management, editorial team, and you! You never have to deal with the client.

This is CONSISTENT ongoing work. This is a work-from-home position. You must be serious. Do you have experience working productively from home? You’ll thrive in our environment and earn real income.

You should at least have 5 years of experience as a content creator or online content editor.

You should know and be familiar with SEO standards and writing optimized content that will rank in Google, and win with readers. Ideally, you should know some conversion standards. If you’ve taken Brian Dean, Julia McCoy’s, or Joanna Wiebe’s courses, that is a huge plus.

TO APPLY: Please send in a summary of your experience to [email protected]and we’ll send you the next interview steps.
